The Precision Roof Rail Weatherstrip Seal, Left Hand RWL 1110 73 is a left-side replacement roof rail seal designed to keep water, dust, and wind noise out of the cabin while securing exterior trim. Engineered from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, this seal restores proper sealing performance to worn or cracked roof rail channels. It provides a reliable, long-lasting barrier against leaks and vibration, and installs as a direct-style replacement to return a vehicle’s roof rail sealing to factory-like condition. Ideal for restoration, maintenance, and trim replacement projects.
Features:
- Left-hand roof rail weatherstrip seal for RWL 1110 73 application.
- Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life.
- Seals roof rail channel to prevent water intrusion, dust entry, and wind noise.
- Helps secure exterior trim and reduce vibration-related wear.
- Direct-style replacement for restoring factory sealing performance.
- Easy to install with basic trim tools and minimal adjustment.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and ensure the roof rail area is cool and dry.
- Carefully remove any trim pieces or clips that overlap the old weatherstrip using a plastic trim tool to avoid damage.
- Peel out the old weatherstrip. If adhesive was used, scrape or cut away remaining adhesive and old rubber.
- Clean the roof rail channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or appropriate cleaner and allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new left-hand weatherstrip along the rail to verify orientation, length, and fit.
- If required, apply a thin bead of butyl tape or recommended adhesive into the channel or on the seal’s mounting flange per product guidance.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the rail and ensuring the seal seats evenly. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if necessary while adhesive cures.
- Trim any excess material at the termination points with a utility knife or scissors for a clean fit.
- Reinstall any trim pieces or clips removed earlier and check that the seal compresses evenly against the roof and trim.
- Test for proper sealing by running water over the roof rail area or checking for wind noise during a short road test; re-seat or adjust as needed.
