Complete weatherstrip seal kit engineered for vehicles that lack a dedicated weatherstrip trim groove. This kit provides a precise, OEM-style sealing solution for cab openings, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and dust while restoring proper door and window alignment. Includes cab windlace for secure installation and a durable rubber compound that resists compression set, ozone, and temperature extremes. Ideal for restorations and maintenance where factory-style fit and long-lasting performance are required.
Features:
- Designed for models without a weatherstrip trim groove; provides a secure seal using included cab windlace.
- Includes full cab weatherstrip set plus cab windlace for a complete installation.
- Constructed from durable rubber (EPDM-style) that resists weathering, ozone, and UV exposure.
- Reduces wind noise, water leaks, and road dust to improve cabin comfort and protect interior components.
- OEM-style profile for accurate fitment and easy alignment during installation.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing aged, cracked, or compressed seals to restore proper sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (typical for one side/cab; full installation may take longer)
Instructions:
- Remove old weatherstrip and windlace: carefully pry out existing seal and windlace using a trim tool or screwdriver. Cut stubborn sections with a razor and remove any retained clips.
- Clean mounting surfaces: remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion. Wipe surfaces with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry for a secure bond.
- Inspect channels and trim: repair or straighten any bent metal, fill holes if needed, and ensure the mounting edge is smooth and free of debris.
- Test-fit new weatherstrip: dry-fit the seal around the door or cab opening to confirm orientation and where trims must be trimmed to length.
- Install windlace (if required): feed the windlace into the base of the weatherstrip or into the channel per kit orientation so the seal will seat correctly against the door/window.
- Apply adhesive (if recommended): apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting flange or channel where indicated by the kit instructions.
- Seat the weatherstrip: press the seal into place starting at one end and working around the opening. Use firm, even pressure to fully engage the seal and windlace; use pliers for tight corners as needed.
- Trim excess: cut any surplus material at joints, corners, or ends for a clean fit. Recheck alignment and compression at door shut points.
- Allow adhesive to cure: follow adhesive manufacturer cure times before closing doors or exposing to moisture.
- Final check: test door/window operation, check for leaks or wind noise, and make minor adjustments if required.
