Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per door (experienced installer)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery (if required), and lower the window (if glass still intact and operable) to a safe position.
- Remove the interior door panel and any trim necessary to access the window regulator and channel (keep fasteners organized).
- Peel back the water barrier carefully to expose the interior of the door; keep it clean and reusable if possible.
- If replacing existing glass, detach the glass from the regulator by removing mounting bolts or clips while supporting the glass with a suction cup or helper.
- Carefully lift the old glass out of the door through the upper opening. Wear gloves and handle tempered glass with care.
- Inspect and clean the window channels and regulator mounting points; remove debris and lightly lubricate channels with silicone spray or appropriate lubricant.
- Position the replacement glass into the door opening at the same angle the original was removed; guide the lower edge into the regulator bracket and the sides into the door channels.
- Align the glass with the regulator mounting holes and secure using the original hardware or recommended fasteners. Do not overtighten.
- Manually cycle the window (or reconnect and test the regulator) to verify smooth operation and proper alignment; make minor adjustments to the channel position if needed.
- Reinstall the water barrier, interior trim, and door panel. Confirm fit, seal, and operation. Clean glass and check for any binding or unusual noise during operation.
