The Precision Lockstrip Joint Clip LJC 848 C is a purpose-built fastener that secures lockstrip and exterior trim to the vehicle body, restoring proper alignment and preventing trim movement. Designed for restoration and repair work, this clip provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant hold that reduces vibration, rattles, and potential water intrusion. Its snap-in design makes replacement quick and helps maintain factory fit and finish for doors, fenders, and body panels.

  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Cleaning cloth
Instructions:
  1. Remove the trim/lockstrip carefully using a plastic trim tool to expose the clip locations.
  2. Inspect and remove any old or damaged clips; clean the pocket area of dirt and corrosion with a cloth.
  3. Position the LJC 848 C clip into the factory pocket or slot on the panel, aligning the clip so the retention tab faces the direction of lockstrip insertion.
  4. Press the clip into the pocket until it snaps or seats flush; use needle-nose pliers for leverage if required, or a rubber mallet with a block of wood for even seating.
  5. Starting at one end, align the lockstrip into the clip and press the strip into the clip’s retention groove; continue along the length, engaging each clip.
  6. Verify the trim is flush and secure; adjust any clips as needed. Reinstall any removed components and test for vibration or movement.
