[More Info]
Precision Windshield Molding WFS D1160 is a direct-fit replacement windshield molding that seals and secures the glass while restoring factory appearance and fit. It provides a weather-tight barrier to prevent water intrusion and wind noise, protects finished trim from abrasion, and helps align the windshield for proper seating. Constructed from durable EPDM rubber with a corrosion-resistant backing, the molding resists UV, ozone, and road contaminants for long-term reliability. Ideal for restoration or maintenance where the WFS D1160 fitment is specified, this molding offers dependable performance and straightforward installation.
Features:
  • Direct-fit for vehicles that specify WFS D1160 molding (verify part number for exact fitment).
  • Made from durable EPDM rubber with a corrosion-resistant backing for long service life.
  • Creates a weather-tight seal to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and keep out debris.
  • Protects surrounding trim and paint from abrasion and water damage.
  • Designed for restoration or replacement applications and easy alignment during installation.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or plastic pry tool
  • Clean rags and isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner
  • Urethane primer and windshield adhesive or appropriate double-sided tape
  • Utility knife or razor blade
  • Gloves
  • Masking tape
  • Suction cups (optional) or windshield lift handles
  • Heat gun or hair dryer (optional, for cold weather)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and protect surrounding trim and paint with masking tape or drop cloths.
  2. Carefully remove the old windshield molding: use a plastic pry tool to disengage any clips or retainers and cut away adhesive where necessary. Take care not to damage the glass or body paint.
  3. Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and bonding surface with isopropyl alcohol or approved cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry.
  4. Inspect the new molding for orientation and fit. Test-fit the molding around the windshield opening to confirm alignment and any clips or attachment points.
  5. If required, apply urethane primer to the vehicle flange and/or molding per adhesive manufacturer instructions. Apply windshield urethane or recommended adhesive/double-sided tape to the flange or the back of the molding as directed.
  6. Align the molding with the windshield flange, starting at one corner and working around the opening. Press the molding into place, engaging any clips or the backing firmly so the profile seats evenly.
  7. Use masking tape or clamps to hold the molding in position while adhesive cures, following cure time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
  8. Trim any excess material with a utility knife, reinstall any trim pieces removed earlier, and clean off any adhesive residue. Allow full adhesive cure before driving or exposing to heavy weather.
