A direct-fit lower left front fender repair panel designed for 1973–1991 Chevy vehicles. This stamped steel replacement restores the corroded or damaged lower front edge of the fender, re-establishing proper contour and structural support for the wheel well area. Finished with a factory-style profile and a corrosion-inhibiting primer, the panel provides a durable foundation for seam sealing and paint. Ideal for rust repair, collision restoration, or preventative maintenance, it helps return the fender to OEM alignment and appearance while simplifying installation for professional or competent DIY installers.
Features:
  • Fits 1973–1991 Chevy models — lower left (driver side) front fender repair panel.
  • Stamped steel construction for strength and correct contour.
  • Primed surface helps resist corrosion and accepts seam sealer and paint.
  • Replaces rusted or damaged lower front fender area to restore fit and alignment.
  • Designed for welding-in; restores structural integrity and wheel well protection.
  • Ideal for restoration projects and rust repair; reduces time to refinish the fender.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 2–4 hours (depending on corrosion extent and experience)
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel removal tools (lug wrench)
  • Angle grinder or cutoff wheel
  • Spot-weld cutter or drill
  • MIG welder (or appropriate welding equipment)
  • Clamps and C-clamps
  • Hammer and dolly
  • Grinding discs and flap discs
  • Seam sealer and primer
  • Rust inhibitor and paint
  • Safety gear (gloves, eye protection, respirator)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare vehicle: park on level surface, disconnect battery, lift vehicle and remove front wheel and inner splash shield as needed to access the repair area.
  2. Expose damaged area: remove trim and any components obstructing the cut line; use a spot-weld cutter or grinder to remove the corroded lower fender section back to solid metal.
  3. Clean and fit: test-fit the new repair panel, trimming as necessary for proper alignment. Ensure flange locations and contours match original fender.
  4. Prep mating surfaces: clean paint and rust from mating edges, apply rust inhibitor to exposed metal, and clamp the panel into final position.
  5. Weld in place: use plug or stitch welds at factory hole locations or continuous welds as appropriate; avoid excessive heat buildup and maintain correct fitment.
  6. Finish welds: grind welds smooth, use hammer and dolly to correct any stamped contours if needed, and ensure a consistent surface for seam sealer.
  7. Seal and protect: apply seam sealer to welded seams, prime bare metal, and apply appropriate primer and paint to match the vehicle.
  8. Reassemble: reinstall inner splash shield, wheel, and any removed components; lower vehicle and perform final inspection for proper fit and finish.
