This repair panel restores structural integrity, proper bumper and tail lamp alignment, and the exterior appearance of the truck bed. Constructed from heavy-gauge steel with a corrosion-resistant finish and OEM-style contours, it provides durable, reliable long-term protection and an easy-to-fit solution for restoration and collision repair projects.

  • Seam sealer
  • Body filler (optional)
  • Primer and paint
  • Safety gear (gloves, eye protection, respirator)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare a clean, well-ventilated workspace and wear appropriate safety gear. Disconnect the battery before beginning.
  2. Remove obstructing components: tailgate, rear bumper, tail lights, inner bed trim and any bed floor panels necessary to access the damaged corner.
  3. Inspect the area and mark the rusted/damaged section to be removed. Use a spot-weld cutter or drill to remove spot welds and an angle grinder to cut away the bad metal.
  4. Test-fit the replacement panel, trim high spots, and verify that edges align with adjacent factory panels. Make any small adjustments before final attachment.
  5. Prep mating surfaces by grinding down to clean metal, removing rust, and applying a rust inhibitor or primer to bare areas.
  6. Clamp the new panel in place and tack-weld at multiple points to hold alignment. Re-check fitment of bumper, tail lamp, and body lines.
  7. Complete welds along the seam in short runs to avoid heat distortion. Allow cooling between welds and grind welds smooth to restore original contours.
  8. Apply seam sealer to all welded joints to prevent moisture intrusion, then prime to seal bare metal.
  9. Finish with appropriate body filler if needed, sand smooth, prime, and paint to match the surrounding bed.
  10. Reinstall removed components (tail lights, bumper, tailgate) and perform a final inspection for fitment and finish.
