This windshield weatherstrip seal with an integrated trim groove is designed to secure steel windshield trim while providing a watertight, vibration-dampening seal for coupe windshields using the WCR D545 profile. The seal restores the original fit and finish, helps prevent leaks and wind noise, and is made for long-term resistance to sun, ozone, and temperature extremes. Ideal for restoration and replacement applications where reliable alignment and durable sealing are required.
Features:
- Fits coupe models using steel windshield trim with the WCR D545 profile.
- Durable EPDM-style rubber compound resists weathering, UV, and temperature changes.
- Integral trim groove holds steel windshield trim securely and ensures proper alignment.
- Seals against water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and minimizes vibration.
- OEM-style replacement for restoration or maintenance of classic coupe windshields.
- Easy press-fit installation with optional adhesive for a long-lasting seal.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and steel trim: carefully pry out the existing trim and pull out the old seal.
- Clean the windshield channel and steel trim: remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion; wipe all surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and let dry.
- Test-fit the new seal: position the seal into the channel without adhesive to verify fit and alignment and ensure the trim groove matches the steel trim.
- (Optional) Apply adhesive: if additional holding strength is desired, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Install the new seal: starting at one corner, press the seal into the windshield channel, working around the perimeter. Use a flat plastic trim tool to seat the seal fully and avoid damaging the rubber.
- Insert the steel trim into the groove: align the steel trim and press it into the integrated groove in the weatherstrip until it locks into place.
- Trim excess and finish: trim any overhanging seal material with a utility knife for a clean fit and use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive cures, if used.
- Final check: inspect the seal and trim for continuous contact, clean any adhesive residue, and allow adhesive to cure per product directions before subjecting the vehicle to water or high-speed driving.
