Restore the clean, finished look of your classic Chevy with this 1973–1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo beltline molding kit. Designed as a left and right outer 2-piece set (WFP 1412 73), the kit secures and protects the window beltline, prevents edge damage and paint wear, and aligns exterior trim for a factory-correct appearance. Finished for corrosion resistance and durability, these molded pieces provide reliable long-term fit and are easy to install during restoration or routine maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1973–1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo — left and right outer beltline, 2-piece kit (WFP 1412 73).
  • Includes both left-hand and right-hand outer beltline moldings for a complete side restoration.
  • Durable, corrosion-resistant finish helps protect paint and metal along the window beltline.
  • Secures exterior trim and maintains a factory-aligned appearance to reduce wind noise and leaks.
  • Designed for direct replacement with OEM-style fit for restorations and maintenance.
  • Easy to handle and install with common trim tools and basic hand tools.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver
  • Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers
  • Rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner
  • Clean lint-free cloths
  • Butyl tape or automotive adhesive (if required)
  • Rivet gun or pop-rivet tool (if original fasteners use rivets)
  • Drill with small bit (optional for rivet holes)
  • Masking tape
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and work with the window fully up for access to the beltline channel.
  2. Carefully remove the old molding: pry off any clips, remove screws or rivets, and pull the molding away from the beltline. Use a trim tool to avoid scratching paint.
  3. Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an adhesive cleaner to remove old sealant, dirt, and adhesive residue. Allow to dry.
  4. Test-fit the new left and right outer moldings in their respective positions to confirm orientation and alignment. Use masking tape to hold pieces in place if needed.
  5. If the kit uses adhesive or butyl tape, apply according to the tape/adhesive instructions. If clips, screws, or rivets are required, align the molding and secure with the appropriate fasteners.
  6. If rivets are needed and original holes are not present, carefully mark and pilot-drill small holes through the molding into the beltline, then install rivets.
  7. Press the molding firmly along its length to seat adhesive or clips, and wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean cloth.
  8. Re-check alignment, tighten any fasteners, and allow adhesive to cure per product instructions before driving. Reinstall any trim or weatherstripping removed during the process.
  9. Inspect the seal and fit after a short test drive and after 24 hours to verify everything remains secure.
