Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel with a plastic trim tool or small flat screwdriver; remove any remaining adhesive or old rubber.
- Clean the mounting channel and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner; allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new seal along the door edge to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess material as needed, keeping cuts square and smooth.
- If the seal is a push-in profile, align the bulb or lip with the channel and press firmly along the length, ensuring the seal seats evenly. If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions, then press the seal into place.
- Work from one end to the other, pressing along the seal every few inches to ensure full engagement in the channel and consistent compression.
- Close the door slowly to check for proper fit and even compression; adjust or trim if necessary to achieve a uniform seal and correct door alignment.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the product instructions before exposing the seal to moisture or extreme temperatures.
