Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out the existing seal using a plastic trim tool to avoid damaging paint or channels.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove adhesive residue, dirt, and oils; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal pieces on the door edge to confirm left/right placement and check for any excess length that may require trimming.
- If recommended or if channels are loose, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive or seam sealer into the channel where the new seal will seat.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the bulb and flange seat evenly — use masking tape to hold sections if needed while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material at corners or endpoints with scissors or a trimming knife for a neat fit.
- Close the door slowly to check for proper alignment and contact; adjust position if necessary and allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before full use.
- Inspect the seal for consistent compression around the door perimeter and retest for leaks or wind noise after installation.
