A direct-fit roof rail weatherstrip seal pair designed for 4-door hardtop cars from 1963. These left- and right-hand seals close the gap between the roof and body at the roof rails to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect the interior from dust and weather. Made for restoration and replacement applications, the seals offer long-lasting resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes, providing reliable performance and an easy, accurate installation for a factory-like seal.
Features:
- Fits 1963 4-door hardtop vehicles — verify fitment for your exact make/model before purchase.
- Manufactured from durable, weather-resistant rubber compound formulated to resist UV, ozone, and temperature changes.
- Seals roof rails to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and keep out dust and road debris.
- Supplied as a left and right hand pair for complete roof rail restoration or replacement.
- Pre-formed profile provides correct alignment and easier installation — trim-to-fit if minor adjustments are required.
- Ideal for classic car restoration projects and maintenance to restore factory sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and work in a shaded, dry area.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip from the roof rail using a trim tool or flat screwdriver; remove any retaining clips if present.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new left and right seals along the roof rail to verify orientation and trim length as needed.
- Apply a continuous bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the cleaned channel or to the back of the weatherstrip per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Position the seal into the channel, pressing firmly along its length to seat it evenly; use masking tape to hold the seal in place if needed.
- Repeat for the opposite side. Reinstall any trim or clips removed earlier.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer (typically 24 hours) before exposing to water or driving at highway speeds.
