Complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for models that use a weatherstrip trim groove and two-piece style vent seals. This kit supplies durable, weather-resistant sealing components that restore proper fit and function to doors, vents and windows, preventing water intrusion, wind noise and vibration. Engineered for reliability and ease of installation, the seals are made from a robust rubber compound that resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes, making this kit well suited for restoration projects or routine maintenance.
Features:
- Durable weather-resistant rubber compound resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes.
- Includes two-piece style vent seals designed for applications with a weatherstrip trim groove.
- Complete kit supplies the primary sealing components needed to restore door, vent and window fit.
- Helps prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise and minimize vibration for a quieter cabin.
- Trimmable and simple to fit with common hand tools for straightforward replacement.
- Ideal for vehicle restoration, refurbishment or long-term maintenance to restore OEM-style fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1-3 hours (vehicle dependent)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, open doors and vents to access seal channels. Work on one area at a time.
- Carefully remove old weatherstrip and vent seals using a trim tool and screwdrivers; save any fasteners if reusable.
- Clean the sealing channels and contact surfaces with rubbing alcohol or panel cleaner; remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion.
- Dry surfaces thoroughly and test-fit new seals to verify correct orientation and length before applying adhesive.
- Cut seals to length as needed with a utility knife or scissors, allowing a small overlap or butt joint per factory style.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead recommended by the adhesive manufacturer to the channel or seal flange.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the groove starting at one end and working toward the other; use a rubber mallet or hand pressure to seat the seal fully.
- Install the two-piece vent seals by positioning the inner/external halves together per fitment, ensuring a snug engagement and correct alignment.
- Secure any fasteners, trim retainers or clips removed earlier; use masking tape to hold seals in place while adhesive cures if necessary.
- Close doors and check for proper fit, smooth operation, and gaps. Make final trim adjustments and allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving.
