The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1102 006 is a high-strength stamped-steel replacement clip designed to securely fasten interior and exterior moldings and trim. It restores proper fit and finish by replacing worn or broken OEM clips, helping to eliminate rattles and prevent trim separation. Finished with a corrosion-resistant coating for long service life, the clip offers reliable retention under vibration and weather exposure. Its OEM-style profile installs into existing channels for a secure, low-profile fit—ideal for restoration projects and routine maintenance across many makes and models.
Features:
- Stainless-steel stamped construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long-term durability.
- Secures interior and exterior molding to prevent rattles, trim sagging, and panel separation.
- OEM-style profile for direct replacement of worn or broken factory clips.
- Simple push-in installation — no specialty fasteners required.
- Durable, reliable solution suitable for restoration, repair, and routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10–20 minutes per clip (varies with access and number of clips)
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the trim panel using a trim removal tool or plastic pry to expose the clip locations.
- If replacing a stuck or corroded clip, apply rust penetrant and allow it to penetrate, then remove the old clip with needle-nose pliers or a screwdriver.
- Clean the mounting channel and contact surfaces with a rag to remove dirt and debris.
- Align the new stamped clip with the trim channel or mounting hole so the retention tabs face the panel.
- Push the clip firmly into the channel or onto the panel stud until it seats flush and the retention tabs engage.
- Reposition the molding or trim over the clip and press the trim onto the clip until you hear/feel it snap into place.
- Check the trim for secure fit and even spacing; adjust as needed. Repeat for additional clips.
