Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, open the door fully, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if you will remove electrical components.
- Carefully remove any molding clips or fasteners and pull away the old upper weatherstrip; use a trim tool to avoid damaging paint or trim.
- Clean the mounting flange and contact surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal to ensure correct orientation (left vs. right) and that mounting holes/retention features align with the door frame.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting surface per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into place along the full length of the door upper, engaging any clips or metal retainer. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly if needed.
- Reinstall any trim or molding removed earlier and check that the door closes smoothly without binding; adjust as needed to ensure an even seal.
- Allow adhesive to cure fully if used (see adhesive instructions), then test for leaks by spraying water along the sealed area and checking for interior moisture or wind noise while driving.
