Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and lift the front of the vehicle using a jack; support securely on jack stands.
- Locate the idler arm on the frame and inspect the existing mounting hardware and surrounding components.
- Apply penetrating oil to corroded fasteners and allow time to soak if removal is difficult.
- Remove old nuts, bolts, washers, and bushings securing the idler arm using the appropriate sockets and wrenches.
- Clean mounting surfaces and inspect the idler arm and frame bracket for wear or damage; replace the idler arm if necessary.
- Position the idler arm and insert the new bolts from the kit through the frame bracket and idler arm mount.
- Install new washers and nuts provided in the kit and hand-tighten to hold components in place.
- Use a torque wrench to tighten the mounting bolts to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque values.
- Lower the vehicle and test-steer to check for proper operation and absence of play; re-torque if required after a short test drive.
