Built for durability, it resists wear and helps eliminate looseness, vibration, and uneven tire wear. Ideal for restoration projects or routine suspension maintenance, this ball joint offers reliable performance and straightforward installation for technicians and DIYers.
Features:
  • Fits 1971–2005 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile & Pontiac front lower (right/left) applications
  • Direct-replacement design for OE fit and alignment without knurling
  • High-strength steel construction for long-lasting durability and load resistance
  • Restores steering precision, reduces vibration, and helps prevent uneven tire wear
  • Pre-greased or serviceable design (specify greaseable model) to extend service life
  • Simple swap for restoration or routine suspension maintenance
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Combination wrenches
  • Ball joint press or C-clamp with adapters
  • Hammer and punch
  • Torque wrench
  • Pry bar
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, chock rear wheels, loosen front lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands; remove the front wheel.
  3. Remove cotter pin and nut from the outer tie rod end and disconnect if necessary to allow knuckle movement.
  4. Remove the lower control arm-to-frame bolts or sway bar link as needed to access the ball joint.
  5. Separate the steering knuckle from the control arm using a ball joint separator or by careful hammering; support the knuckle to avoid stressing brake lines.
  6. Use a ball joint press with the correct adapters to press out the old ball joint from the control arm.
  7. Press the new ball joint into the control arm squarely until fully seated; verify orientation (right/left) before pressing.
  8. Reassemble the control arm and knuckle, tighten the ball joint nut to the manufacturer's specified torque and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
  9. Reinstall any removed components (tie rod, sway bar links), torque all fasteners to spec, and reinstall the wheel.
  10. Lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a test drive; have a professional wheel alignment done if steering or tire wear issues persist.
