Inner tie rod end for 2014–2017 Chevrolet vehicles, designed to connect the steering rack to the outer tie rod and maintain precise steering geometry. This direct-fit replacement provides reliable steering control, reduces play in the front end, and restores proper alignment after wear or damage. Built with durable materials and a robust ball joint, it resists everyday road stresses and helps maintain safe, predictable handling. Ideal for suspension restoration and routine maintenance to eliminate looseness, uneven tire wear, and steering wander.
Features:
- Fitment: Direct fit for many 2014–2017 Chevrolet vehicles — verify vehicle-specific compatibility before purchase.
- Durable construction with hardened-steel ball stud and corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Restores steering precision by replacing worn inner tie rod ends and eliminating steering play.
- Easy installation design for straightforward replacement during steering or suspension repairs.
- Helps prevent uneven tire wear and improves vehicle handling and safety.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, then lift the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod end connecting the steering rack to the outer tie rod. Apply penetrating lubricant to fasteners if needed.
- Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castle nut or retaining nut on the tie rod end. Use a tie rod end puller or a pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle/outer tie rod.
- Loosen and remove the inner tie rod lock nut and unthread the inner tie rod from the outer tie rod or steering rack, taking note of the number of turns or measuring the exposed thread length to preserve alignment.
- Thread the new inner tie rod into the steering rack or onto the outer tie rod to the previously recorded position. Tighten the lock nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
- Reattach the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle, tighten the retaining nut to the specified torque, and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Because tie rod replacement affects wheel alignment, have a professional alignment performed or verify toe settings using alignment tools before driving.
