Instructions:
- Open and support the trunk lid to prevent it from closing while you work.
- Locate the old trunk bumper and remove any retaining nut, clip, or push out the bumper by prying it free with a flathead screwdriver or pliers.
- Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a rag and solvent; remove rust or debris. Apply penetrating oil if hardware is corroded.
- Position the new trunk bumper stud through the mounting hole from the outside or inside as required by your vehicle's configuration.
- Secure the bumper with the supplied nut or clip and tighten by hand or with an adjustable wrench/socket until snug. Do not over-tighten; the rubber should compress slightly.
- Adjust the bumper height by threading it in or out until the trunk lid closes with a uniform gap and no binding. Test-close the trunk and listen for rattles.
- Repeat the procedure for any additional bumpers and recheck trunk alignment and operation after all bumpers are installed.
