Left-hand Glass Run Channel (GRL 1110 81) designed to guide, seal and cushion the door glass. This channel keeps the window aligned, reduces wind noise and prevents water intrusion and interior damage. Built to OEM-style dimensions for a reliable fit, it restores proper window operation on doors that require the GRL 1110 81 left-hand channel. Durable construction provides long-lasting performance and straightforward installation for restoration or replacement projects.
Features:
- Fits left-hand door applications that require Glass Run Channel GRL 1110 81; verify part number for correct fit.
- Extruded EPDM rubber with reinforced bead for consistent sealing and wear resistance.
- Guides and cushions window glass to maintain alignment and smooth operation.
- Helps prevent wind noise, water leaks, and interior damage by sealing the window opening.
- OEM-style replacement for restoration and repair projects; restores original fit and function.
- Designed for easy installation with basic hand tools and optional weatherstrip adhesive.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: lower the window glass slightly (if possible) and disconnect the battery if working near power components.
- Remove the interior door panel: use trim tools and screwdrivers to remove fasteners, clips, and any electrical connectors. Set hardware aside in order.
- Remove the old channel: carefully pull out the existing glass run channel from the door frame. If secured with adhesive, cut or pry it free, taking care not to damage the metal channel or glass.
- Clean the mounting area: wipe the door channel and surrounding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt and oils. Ensure the glass and channel track are clean and dry.
- Test-fit the new channel: align the new GRL 1110 81 left-hand channel in the door frame and along the window path to confirm fit and orientation before final installation.
- Apply adhesive (optional): for a more secure hold, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting flange per adhesive instructions.
- Install the new channel: press the channel into the metal door frame starting at one end and working to the other. Use a rubber mallet or gloved hand to seat the channel fully into the retainer, ensuring the bead locks in place.
- Reposition the glass: carefully move the glass into the new channel and cycle the window (manually or with power) to check smooth operation and proper alignment.
- Reassemble the door: reinstall the door panel, trim pieces and any removed hardware. Reconnect electrical connectors and test the window operation again.
- Final check: inspect for gaps, listen for wind noise, and perform a water test (light spray) to confirm the seal if desired.
