A two-piece left/right glass run channel kit designed to guide and seal the vehicle window within the door frame. This precision-molded rubber channel ensures smooth window travel, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects the glass edges from wear and damage. Ideal for restoration and maintenance projects where worn or cracked channels are causing rattles, leaks, or poor window operation. Confirm vehicle fitment by part number or application guide before purchase.
Features:
- Durable EPDM rubber construction resists weathering, cracking, and shrinkage
- Fits either left or right hand application as a 2-piece kit for easy replacement
- Restores proper window alignment and prevents glass-to-metal contact
- Reduces wind noise, vibration, and water intrusion for a quieter, dryer cabin
- Direct replacement design for a secure fit and long-term reliability
- Straightforward installation with common hand tools; suitable for DIY restorations
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Lower the window to a position that allows access to the glass run area, then disconnect the negative battery terminal if needed for power windows.
- Remove the interior door panel and any water shield carefully using a trim tool and screwdrivers; store fasteners safely.
- Carefully lift the glass slightly and support it in place (tape or a block can be used) to access the run channel.
- Remove the old glass run channel by peeling or cutting it out; take care not to damage the glass or window regulator.
- Clean the channel seating area inside the door of old adhesive, dirt, and debris using a clean cloth and solvent if necessary.
- Lubricate the new channel lightly with soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation and prevent sticking.
- Position the new channel in the door slot and press it into place, starting at one end and working to the other; use a rubber mallet gently if needed to seat it fully.
- Lower the glass back into the channel and cycle the window slowly to ensure smooth operation and correct alignment; make any minor adjustments.
- Reinstall the water shield and interior door panel, reconnect electrical connections and the battery, and test the window operation and seal.
