Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and disconnect the battery if the door has powered windows.
- Remove the interior door panel: remove screws and fasteners, then use a trim tool to release clips and lift the panel away.
- Lower the window (if operable) to access bolts and the window run; remove the window glass if necessary following vehicle-specific removal steps.
- Locate and remove the old glass run channel by pulling it out of the channel groove; cut away any adhesive or remnants if required.
- Clean the channel seating area inside the door with a rag to remove dirt, old adhesive, and corrosion.
- Apply a light bead of silicone lubricant or soapy water along the new run channel to ease installation.
- Position the new glass run channel into the door slot, aligning the top and bottom ends; press it firmly into place and tap gently with a rubber mallet if needed to seat it fully.
- Reinstall the window glass, ensuring it rides smoothly in the new channel; adjust glass alignment as required per vehicle specifications.
- Operate the window several times to confirm smooth movement, proper sealing, and absence of binding or gaps.
- Reinstall the interior door panel and fasteners, reconnect the battery (if disconnected), and perform a final test for leaks and noise.
