Instructions:
- Remove the door panel and any inner trim necessary to access the old weatherstrip and metal-framed glass assembly.
- Carefully remove the existing weatherstrip and retainers. Note clip/fastener locations and keep hardware if reusable.
- Clean the sealing surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or solvent to remove adhesive residue, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip onto the door channel and around the glass frame to verify orientation and fit. Trim excess only if required.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door flange or seal as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Starting at one end, press the weatherstrip into place, aligning retainers or bulbs with the door channel. Use masking tape to hold sections in position while adhesive sets, if needed.
- Seat any metal retainers or clips into their original locations. Use needle-nose pliers to secure clips carefully without distorting the seal.
- Check fitment of the metal-framed door glass and cycle the window (if applicable) to ensure there is no binding and that the seal compresses evenly.
- Trim any excess material for a clean finish. Reinstall door panel and hardware. Allow adhesive to cure per adhesive instructions before exposing to moisture.
