Instructions:
- Inspect kit parts and compare to the vehicle openings to identify where each piece installs.
- Remove the old weatherstrip: peel away, cut through any stubborn sections with a utility knife, and pry out remnants with a trim tool or flat screwdriver.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting flange and surrounding surface using isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate adhesive remover; allow the surface to dry completely.
- Dry‑fit the new seal along the flange to confirm length and corner fit. Trim excess material with a utility knife or sharp scissors as needed.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even coat of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange and/or the inner contact surface of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. Allow tack time if specified.
- Starting at one end, press the seal firmly into place along the flange, working slowly to avoid gaps or twisting. Use a roller or rubber mallet to seat the bulb and base fully.
- Miter or neatly overlap corners and trim any excess for a clean finish. Re‑check fit and adjust as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions (typically 24 hours) before subjecting the seal to heavy use or moisture.
- Reinstall any trim or hardware removed during disassembly and test by closing the door/hatch to ensure even compression and proper sealing.
