Complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for models with a weatherstrip trim groove (CWK 1112 73). This kit replaces worn or damaged perimeter seals to secure trim, prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect the interior from moisture and debris. Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long-lasting performance and a near-factory fit, the kit restores proper sealing and alignment for doors and windows while being straightforward to install for DIY or shop use.
Features:
- Fits models with weatherstrip trim groove (CWK 1112 73) — verify part number against your vehicle.
- High-quality weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life and UV resistance.
- Seals trim groove to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim.
- Designed to restore correct fit and alignment of doors and windows for a factory-like finish.
- Easy to install with common hand tools; ideal for restoration or routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Confirm kit contents and compare new seals to the removed sections to ensure correct lengths and profiles.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by prying out any retaining clips and peeling the seal from the groove; cut into sections if necessary for easier removal.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the groove along the entire perimeter to check alignment and determine any trimming points.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a continuous bead of weatherstrip cement to the groove or back of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the groove, using a trim tool or your fingers to seat the bulb and any retention ribs fully into place.
- Trim excess material with a razor or utility knife for clean joints; use masking tape to hold corners or butt joints while adhesive cures, if used.
- Allow any adhesive to cure for the recommended time (typically 24 hours) before closing doors or exposing to water; test door operation and inspect for uniform sealing.
