Complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for 1967 models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove, large rear window, and chrome beltlines. This kit provides a precision-fit replacement that restores the rear window seal, prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and protects chrome beltline finishes. Made for restoration and maintenance projects, the components offer long-lasting elasticity and reliable sealing performance that make installation straightforward and results durable.
Features:
- Fits 1967 models with a weatherstrip trim groove, large rear window, and chrome beltlines.
- Complete set includes all primary rear window weatherstrip pieces needed for a full seal replacement.
- Made from flexible, durable EPDM-style rubber to resist weathering, ozone, and UV breakdown.
- Restores proper sealing to prevent leaks and wind noise while protecting chrome beltline trim.
- Designed for direct-fit installation into the original trim groove—no major modification required.
- Ideal for restoration or replacement projects to return appearance and function to factory‑style condition.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Carefully remove any interior trim and the old weatherstrip from the rear window area; retain trim fasteners if reusable.
- Clean the mounting surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove old adhesive and contaminants until surface is dry and smooth.
- Dry-fit each new weatherstrip piece into the trim groove to confirm orientation and fit; trim any excess with a utility knife as needed for an accurate fit.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the groove or weatherstrip flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Press the weatherstrip firmly into the trim groove, starting at one side and working around the window to avoid air pockets; use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive sets if necessary.
- Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the weatherstrip evenly into the groove, ensuring the trim flange engages and the seal lies flush against the window and beltline.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (typically 24 hours) before reinstalling interior trim or exposing the vehicle to wet conditions.
- Reinstall any trim pieces and inspect the seal for gaps; test for leaks after curing by lightly spraying water around the window and checking interior dryness.
