Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and work in a well-ventilated area. Protect surrounding trim with masking tape if needed.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any trim pieces that obstruct access to the seal channel using trim tools and screwdrivers to avoid damaging metal or chrome.
- Remove old adhesive and debris from the channel. Clean mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate solvent and allow to dry.
- Dry-fit each new weatherstrip section to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess material as needed with a razor knife for an exact fit.
- Apply a continuous, even bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal, following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at one side of the window opening, press the weatherstrip firmly into place along the channel. Work around the opening, ensuring the seal seats evenly and aligns with the chrome beltline.
- Use masking tape or clamps where applicable to hold the seal in position while the adhesive skins over (follow adhesive cure times).
- Reinstall any removed trim or hardware, checking that the chrome beltline engages the weatherstrip correctly and that there are no gaps.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean rag and solvent if required.
- Allow the adhesive to cure fully (refer to adhesive instructions — typically 24 hours) before exposing the vehicle to moisture or closing the trunk/operating the window area.
