A complete push-on door weatherstrip seal kit designed for models with a weatherstrip trim groove and black beltlines. Engineered to restore a tight, factory-like seal around door openings, this kit prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects painted surfaces from wear. The flexible, durable rubber compound resists aging, compression set and temperature changes for reliable, long-lasting performance. Ideal for restoration projects and maintenance where original-style fit and appearance are required.
Features:
- Fits 1971 models with a weatherstrip trim groove and black beltlines (CWK 1110 71 PDS application).
- Push-on door seals designed for a trim-groove installation for authentic, OEM-style fit.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber (EPDM-style compound) to resist ozone, heat and cold.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration while preventing water leaks and interior damage.
- Easy push-on installation — no full adhesive bonding required, yet compatible with adhesive for high-wear areas.
- Restoration-grade replacement that renews appearance and function around door openings.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes (both doors; single door 15–30 minutes)
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pull out existing seal and remove adhesive residue using isopropyl alcohol or a suitable cleaner.
- Inspect and clean the trim groove and surrounding metal; ensure surfaces are dry and free of rust or paint flakes.
- Dry-fit the new push-on seal along the door opening to confirm orientation and length; mark any excess for trimming.
- If trimming is required, cut the seal squarely with scissors or a utility knife, leaving a small overlap at corners if applicable.
- Apply soapy water or a light silicone spray to the bulb and groove to ease installation. Use adhesive only at ends or high-wear points if extra retention is desired.
- Begin at the top corner of the door opening and press the retainer portion of the seal into the trim groove. Work in small sections, pushing the retainer firmly into the groove.
- Use a roller or trim tool to seat the seal fully and eliminate twists or gaps, working your way around the door opening.
- Trim and tuck corners as needed for a neat finish; apply a small amount of weatherstrip adhesive at the start/stop points if desired and allow recommended cure time.
- Close the door and check for proper fit, even compression, and unobstructed latch operation. Make minor adjustments as necessary.
