Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: Park on a level surface and open the doors, trunk or hatch to access the sealing channels.
- Remove old seals: Use a trim tool to pry out old weatherstrip sections. Remove adhesive residue with an adhesive remover and clean the channel with isopropyl alcohol; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit new seals: Lay each new seal in position without adhesive to confirm orientation and trimming needs. Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife.
- Apply adhesive (if required): If the kit or vehicle channel requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Install seals: Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working from one end to the other to avoid gaps. Ensure bulb and flange seats fully into the channel profile.
- Secure while curing: Use masking tape to hold seals in place where needed and allow adhesive to tack/cure as directed (typically 30–60 minutes for initial tack; full cure per adhesive instructions).
- Final check: Remove tape, cycle doors/trunk/hatch to confirm even contact and proper operation. Make minor adjustments and trim any excess if necessary.
