This 30-piece beltline molding kit supplies left- and right-hand trim profiles and retainers intended to replace worn or missing beltline trim on non-SS models. The kit secures and aligns the exterior beltline molding, protecting the door and quarter panel edges from chips, preventing water intrusion, and helping reduce wind noise. Made for restoration and maintenance projects, the components feature a durable, corrosion-resistant finish and are sized for direct-fit installation where original-style retainers are used.
Features:
- Designed for non-SS models; direct-fit replacement kit for beltline trim (left and right hand).
- Complete 30-piece kit includes trim profiles and the necessary retainers and clips.
- Durable metal with a corrosion-resistant finish for long-lasting appearance and protection.
- Secures beltline molding to prevent vibration, reduce wind noise, and protect door edges.
- Easy to install with included clips — ideal for restorations and replacement applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Confirm kit contents and compare new pieces with the old trim to verify fit and orientation.
- Carefully remove old beltline molding and retainers using a plastic trim removal tool and flathead screwdriver to avoid damaging the paint or sheetmetal.
- Clean the mounting channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag to remove dirt, adhesive, and corrosion.
- If old retainer holes are damaged or corroded, lightly file or clean them so new retainers seat firmly.
- Start at one end: align the new molding profile with the beltline channel and insert the first retainer/clip through the molding into the factory hole until it snaps in place.
- Work along the length, inserting retainers at the factory spacing. Use a rubber mallet or the palm of your hand to seat clips evenly without deforming the molding.
- Trim any excess molding at the ends with a utility knife or small file so the profile matches adjacent panels.
- Inspect the entire run for even fit and secure seating of all retainers. Close and open the door to check for interference or rubbing.
- If any clips feel loose, replace with another supplied retainer or secure the clip with a small dab of automotive-grade adhesive as a last resort.
- Wipe the installed molding clean and allow any adhesive (if used) to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving.
