1981–1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Beltline Molding Kit (outer left and right, pair WFP 1412 81) designed to replace worn or damaged beltline trim. These outer moldings protect the door’s upper edge and window channel, restore factory appearance, and help seal the window to reduce wind noise and water intrusion. Precision-engineered to align with factory mounting points, the kit delivers durable, long-lasting fit and finish and simplifies restoration or routine trim replacement for classic Monte Carlo owners.
Features:
  • Fits 1981–1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo — outer left and right beltline moldings (pair, WFP 1412 81).
  • Direct-fit replacement designed to match original beltline profile and mounting locations.
  • Durable, corrosion-resistant finish for long life and consistent appearance.
  • Helps seal the window channel to reduce wind noise and prevent water intrusion.
  • Restores door-edge trim for improved curb appeal during restoration or repairs.
  • Sold as a left and right pair for complete vehicle restoration or replacement.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flat plastic trim tool or panel remover
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Socket set (metric/standard as needed)
  • Masking tape
  • Clean rag and mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol
  • Replacement clips or fasteners (if original clips are damaged)
Instructions:
  1. Lower the window slightly (about 1–2 inches) to access the beltline area and support the glass to prevent movement.
  2. Carefully remove the old molding: use a flat plastic trim tool to pry out any retaining clips and work along the length to free the molding. Keep removed clips if they are undamaged.
  3. Clean the channel and mounting surface with a rag and mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and corrosion.
  4. If the new moldings require clips, install the replacement clips onto the new molding at the same spacing as the originals.
  5. Position the new molding at the front edge of the door and press it into the channel, aligning with factory mounting holes. Work from front to rear, snapping the molding into place and engaging each clip.
  6. Secure any screws or fasteners as required by the design. If using adhesive-backed portions, remove protective film and press firmly to bond.
  7. Cycle the window up and down slowly to confirm the molding clears the glass and that the window seals correctly with no binding or gaps.
  8. Re-check fasteners and clip engagement. Trim or replace any damaged clips and clean the installed molding to finish.
