Precision 2 Door Hardtop - Roof Rail Weatherstrip Seal (Pair RWP 1411 67) is a direct-fit left and right roof rail weatherstrip set designed to restore the seal between the hardtop and body rails on 1967 2-door hardtop vehicles. Its main purpose is to secure and align the hardtop, block water intrusion, and reduce wind noise and vibration. Molded from a durable rubber compound, the seals provide reliable, long-lasting protection and are simple to install for restorations or replacement applications.
Features:
- Fits 1967 2-door hardtop models (left and right roof rail seals).
- Direct-fit left and right hand pair (RWP 1411 67) for easy replacement.
- High-quality rubber compound for flexibility, UV and ozone resistance, and long service life.
- Pre-formed profile restores correct hardtop alignment and sealing to prevent leaks and wind noise.
- Helps reduce vibration and wear on hardtop mounting surfaces while improving cabin comfort.
- Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to return original fit and function.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the hardtop (if applicable) or open access to the roof rail area and remove the old weatherstrip seals.
- Carefully pull out the old seals and remove any adhesive residue or old gasket material using a plastic scraper and surface cleaner.
- Wipe the roof rail surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit each new seal (left and right) along the roof rail to confirm orientation and proper fit before applying adhesive.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the roof rail per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions; some adhesives require applying to both surfaces and allowing tack-up time.
- Position the new seal onto the adhesive-lined rail, pressing it into place along the entire length. Use masking tape to hold the seal temporarily if needed while adhesive sets.
- Use a hand roller or firm pressure to seat the seal fully into the channel and ensure consistent contact with the adhesive and mounting surfaces.
- Trim any excess material at the ends with a utility knife for a neat finish, and inspect both ends for complete contact and alignment.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for the recommended time before reinstalling the hardtop or driving (typically 1–24 hours depending on adhesive).
- After curing, reinstall any trim or hardware and perform a water test to confirm there are no leaks and that the hardtop seats properly.
