Instructions:
- Open the door and remove any trim or retainers that obstruct the weatherstrip (use trim tool/screwdrivers as needed).
- Carefully pull out the old weatherstrip from the channel; use pliers for stubborn sections and a trim tool to avoid damaging paint.
- Clean the sealing channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove old adhesive residue and let dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door edge to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary with a utility knife.
- If the seal uses adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or seal per adhesive instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into place, starting at one end and working around the door edge, ensuring the bulb seats fully into the channel.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in position while adhesive cures (if adhesive used).
- Reinstall any removed trim or retainers, close the door and check for proper fit, latch function, and even compression. Adjust as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure fully per manufacturer recommendations before exposing to moisture or heavy use.
