Outer right-hand beltline molding engineered for 1981–1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS models. This exact-fit replacement restores the factory appearance along the upper door edge, seals and protects the door-to-glass seam, and prevents water intrusion and wind noise. Made from corrosion-resistant materials with a factory-style finish, it provides long-lasting durability, reliable fitment to OE mounting points, and simple installation to help return your Monte Carlo SS to showroom trim condition.
Features:
- Fits 1981-1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS models — outer right-hand (passenger side).
- Constructed from corrosion-resistant, OEM-style materials for long life and correct appearance.
- Restores factory beltline profile to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect the door edge.
- Designed to use original mounting points and retainers for accurate alignment and secure fit.
- Easy to install — clip-on/fastener design (adhesive may be required in some applications).
- Ideal for restoration projects and replacement of worn, dented, or corroded trim pieces.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, lower the window slightly (if applicable) and disconnect the negative battery terminal if you will remove the inner door panel.
- Carefully remove any interior trim or weatherstripping obstructing access to the beltline molding using a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching paint.
- Locate and remove fasteners or retainers securing the old molding. Gently pry the molding away from the door, working along its length to disengage clips without bending or breaking the part.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting channel and mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or a trim-safe cleaner; remove old adhesive residue and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new beltline molding to verify orientation and alignment with existing holes/retainers. Apply a small amount of adhesive/sealant only if the vehicle originally used it or if clips are worn.
- Starting at one end, press the molding into place, engaging clips or retainers one section at a time. Use a rubber mallet wrapped in a cloth for light persuasion if necessary — avoid excessive force.
- Reinstall any interior trim or weatherstripping removed earlier. Cycle the window and operate the door to confirm proper clearance and fit; adjust as needed.
- Clean the installed molding and surrounding area, allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions, and reconnect the battery if disconnected.
