Precision Door Weatherstrip Seal (DWB 1110) for left or right doors is a direct-fit replacement for First Series 1947 GM vehicles. This door weatherstrip seals the door-to-body gap to block water, wind, dust and road noise while restoring proper door shut and alignment. Made from a durable rubber compound with an OE-style profile, it provides long-lasting weather protection and improves cabin comfort — an essential part for classic car restoration and maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits First Series GM vehicles (1947) — left or right door application (driver or passenger).
  • Direct-fit replacement for DWB 1110 door weatherstrip to restore original sealing performance.
  • Durable rubber compound resists cracking, shrinking and weathering over time.
  • Prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and helps maintain interior climate.
  • Simple installation — installs with basic tools and weatherstrip adhesive or retainers.
  • Ideal for classic restoration projects and preserving factory appearance and function.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30–60 minutes per door
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver
  • Rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (if required)
  • Masking tape or spring clamps
  • Utility knife or scissors
  • Clean cloth and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Open the door and remove the existing weatherstrip by peeling it away and removing any retaining clips or screws with a trim tool or screwdriver.
  2. Clean the mounting flange and surrounding area thoroughly to remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion; use a solvent/adhesive cleaner and a clean cloth, then let dry.
  3. Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to confirm orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary for a perfect fit.
  4. If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door flange or inside the seal channel per the adhesive manufacturer's directions.
  5. Starting at one end, press the weatherstrip firmly into place along the door edge, ensuring the bulb and lip seat correctly and any mounting holes align with retainers.
  6. Temporarily secure the seal with masking tape or spring clamps as needed and close the door to check alignment; make any minor adjustments for uniform contact.
  7. Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer's recommended time before exposing the vehicle to moisture or heavy use.
