Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the existing weatherstrip by peeling it away and removing any retaining clips or screws with a trim tool or screwdriver.
- Clean the mounting flange and surrounding area thoroughly to remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion; use a solvent/adhesive cleaner and a clean cloth, then let dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to confirm orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary for a perfect fit.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door flange or inside the seal channel per the adhesive manufacturer's directions.
- Starting at one end, press the weatherstrip firmly into place along the door edge, ensuring the bulb and lip seat correctly and any mounting holes align with retainers.
- Temporarily secure the seal with masking tape or spring clamps as needed and close the door to check alignment; make any minor adjustments for uniform contact.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer's recommended time before exposing the vehicle to moisture or heavy use.
