The Precision Glass Weatherstrip Lockstrip WLS 1135 C is a metal lockstrip engineered to secure automotive window glass inside the rubber weatherstrip channel. It creates a firm, consistent hold that reduces wind noise, prevents water intrusion, and stops glass from shifting or rattling. Designed for restoration and replacement use, this corrosion-resistant lockstrip provides dependable retention and a professional finish while remaining straightforward to install for both DIYers and technicians. Verify specific year/make/model fitment before purchase.
Features:
- Check vehicle fitment for year, make and model before ordering — compatibility varies by application.
- Corrosion-resistant metal core for long-lasting retention and reliability.
- Secures glass within the weatherstrip channel to reduce vibration, wind noise, and leaks.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing worn/flattened original lockstrips.
- Designed for relatively simple installation with common hand tools; no special adhesives required in most applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes per window
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a flat surface and lower the window glass slightly to access the weatherstrip area (follow vehicle-specific procedures).
- Remove the door panel or access cover as needed to expose the glass and weatherstrip channel per vehicle instructions.
- Carefully remove the old lockstrip: peel back the rubber weatherstrip enough to expose the metal core and use pliers or a screwdriver to slide or pry the old strip out. Cut into sections if necessary to ease removal.
- Clean the glass edge and weatherstrip channel thoroughly with solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Lubricate the weatherstrip channel and the edge of the glass with soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation.
- Align the new WLS 1135 C lockstrip with the glass edge and begin inserting it into the channel, working in short sections and pressing it fully into place. Use pliers for firm grip and a soft-faced hammer to seat the strip if required.
- Trim any excess lockstrip length with a utility knife so edges sit flush with the window and door frame.
- Cycle the window slowly to ensure smooth operation and correct alignment. Reinstall door panel or access covers.
- Test for proper sealing and adjust as needed. Allow any lubricant to dry and re-check after a short road test for rattles or leaks.
