- Made from durable EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to ozone, UV and temperature changes.
- Seals out water, dust and wind noise while cushioning the rear glass to reduce vibration.
- Factory-style profile for accurate fit and restored appearance.
- No special trimming required in most applications; designed for straightforward installation.
- Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to prevent interior water damage.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and work in a dry, shaded area. Remove rear deck or interior trim as needed to access the seal area.
- Carefully pry out and remove the old weatherstrip pieces using a trim tool or flat screwdriver. Cut away any stubborn remnants with a utility knife.
- Thoroughly clean the sealing channel and mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol to remove adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit both new seal pieces (dry) to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess only if absolutely necessary.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal flange per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the channel, starting at one end and working around the opening. Use a rubber mallet or block to seat the seal evenly without overstretching.
- Secure the seal in position with masking tape or clamps where needed and align the glass to ensure proper fit.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions (typically 1–24 hours) before reassembling interior trim and testing for leaks.
- Inspect the installed seal for gaps or pinched areas and make small adjustments as needed.
