Small Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal (WBL 1091 T) provides a precise, OEM-style seal around small rear window openings to prevent water intrusion, dust, and wind noise. Molded from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant elastomer for long-lasting performance, it restores original fit and appearance while protecting interior trim and glass edges. Designed to fit small rear windows on a variety of classic and late-model vehicles — verify exact application by year, make, and model before purchase. Ideal for restoration projects or routine replacement to maintain vehicle weatherproofing and reduce vibration.
Features:
- Made from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant elastomer for long service life.
- OEM-style profile restores factory fit and appearance for rear window openings.
- Prevents water leaks, dust intrusion, and reduces wind noise and vibration.
- Push-in / snap-in style for secure seating without trimming groove hardware.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; suitable for restoration and maintenance.
- Resists shrinking, cracking, and hardening from sun exposure.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and remove any interior trim or panels necessary to access the rear window channel.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: use a plastic trim tool to pry out the seal and a utility knife to cut away any stubborn adhesive. Take care not to scratch the glass or paint.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove dirt, old adhesive, and oils. Allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to confirm orientation and full length. Trim excess with a sharp blade if necessary to match original length.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive where recommended by vehicle instructions (many seals are designed to press-fit without adhesive). Use mild soapy water or silicone spray to lubricate the seal for easier installation if needed.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the channel using your hands; use a soft-faced mallet to gently seat the profile evenly along the entire perimeter. Avoid overstretching the seal.
- Reinstall any interior trim or moldings and clean the window and surrounding area. If adhesive was used, follow manufacturer cure times before driving or exposing to moisture.
- Inspect the seal for consistent seating and check for leaks after the first wash or rain. Re-torque or adjust trim pieces as needed.
