Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding paint with masking tape or towels.
- Carefully remove the exterior chrome trim that inserts into the body clips: use a trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver to pry trim away from clips, working slowly to avoid bending the trim.
- Remove the old weatherstrip seal by pulling it out of the channel; use pliers for stubborn sections and keep track of any body clips removed.
- Clean the channel and glass edge thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or appropriate cleaner to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and old sealant; allow to dry.
- Inspect and replace any damaged or missing body clips before installing the new seal to ensure proper retention.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel, aligning the profile so the chrome trim can be reinserted into the seal as intended.
- Press the new seal into the channel around the full perimeter, ensuring it seats evenly; apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive in areas prone to movement if desired.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by aligning it with the sealed edge and pressing it into the body clips until fully engaged; verify clips are secure and trim is straight.
- Check the window for proper seating and gaps, and test for leaks with a light spray of water after installation to confirm a watertight seal.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving; re-check clip retention and trim alignment after initial use.
