A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip seal engineered for sedan models that use chrome trim which inserts into body clips. This weatherstrip secures the chrome trim, seals the window opening against water and wind, and restores factory-aligned trim fitment. Molded from durable EPDM rubber with a flexible retention lip, it resists weathering, UV, and compression set for long-lasting reliability. Designed for restoration or replacement projects, it simplifies installation while protecting the vehicle interior from leaks and reducing wind noise.
Features:
- Compatible with sedan models that use chrome trim inserted into body clips (verify fitment before ordering).
- Molded EPDM rubber for superior weather, ozone, and UV resistance.
- Specifically shaped to accept chrome trim and engage factory body clips for a secure hold.
- Prevents water intrusion and reduces wind noise for improved cabin comfort.
- Durable construction resists deformation and maintains a tight seal over time.
- Ideal for restoration and replacement to restore original appearance and function.
- Easy to handle and install with basic trim removal tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the chrome exterior trim by prying gently at clip locations with a trim tool or wrapped flathead screwdriver.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the body channel and disengaging it from the chrome trim if still attached.
- Clean the window channel and clip areas thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or mild cleaner and allow to dry.
- If applicable, insert the chrome trim into the new weatherstrip to assemble trim and seal before installation.
- Position the new weatherstrip at the top center of the window opening and align it with the body clip locations.
- Press the weatherstrip lip into the body channel and seat it onto each body clip, working from the center outward toward the corners. Use a rubber mallet or palm to ensure full engagement without overstretching.
- Reinstall the chrome trim over the weatherstrip, snapping clips into place and checking for even alignment and flush fit.
- Inspect the seal all around the window, adjust as needed, and test for leaks with a gentle water spray once installation is complete.
