The Precision Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal, Without Trim Groove WBL 6425 is a direct-fit rear window seal engineered to keep water, wind, and road debris out of the cabin while restoring proper window alignment and appearance. Designed for applications that require a groove-less sealing profile, this weatherstrip provides a tight, consistent seal around the glass edge to reduce leaks and wind noise. Constructed from a durable automotive-grade rubber compound, it resists compression set, UV degradation, and temperature extremes for long-lasting performance. Ideal for restoration or replacement projects, the WBL 6425 simplifies installation and returns the vehicle to a factory-like seal and fit.
Features:
- Designed for rear window openings that require a seal without a trim groove (confirm fitment with part number WBL 6425).
- Made from durable automotive-grade rubber for resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
- Groove-less profile seals directly against the glass edge to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
- OEM-style shape provides correct alignment and a factory appearance on restoration and replacement jobs.
- Easy to install — push-in or adhesive-retained depending on vehicle application.
- Helps protect interior trim and body panels from water damage and corrosion.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and work in a warm, dust-free area if possible; mild heat improves seal flexibility and adhesive performance.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: detach any retaining clips, pull the seal from the channel, and cut through any bonded sections with a utility knife.
- Clean the channel and surrounding flange thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new WBL 6425 seal around the glass opening to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap if specified by vehicle instructions.
- If the application uses adhesive, apply a continuous thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. If the seal is push-in style, omit adhesive unless supplemental bonding is desired.
- Starting at the top center of the opening, press the new seal into the channel and work toward each corner. Use a trim tool or block of wood and rubber mallet to seat the seal evenly without distortion.
- Ensure corners and ends are fully seated and any laps are properly overlapped or butted per vehicle practice. Clean any excess adhesive immediately with solvent.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the recommended time before exposing the vehicle to water or driving at highway speeds. Reinstall any trim or retaining hardware as required.
