Precision Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal, Without Trim Groove WBL DB4963/64 is an OEM-style replacement weatherstrip designed to seal and secure the rear windshield, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and glass movement. Suitable for a range of classic and later-model vehicles (verify fitment by part number), it is molded from durable EPDM rubber that resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes. Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Confirm part number and fitment against the vehicle before beginning.
- Carefully remove interior trim and any molding around the rear window to access the existing seal.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel; cut into sections if necessary to ease removal.
- Thoroughly clean the glass edge and channel with solvent and a lint-free cloth; remove old adhesive and debris.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip around the glass and frame to verify orientation and length; trim excess with a razor if required.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel only if recommended for your vehicle. For many applications, a lubricant (soapy water or dedicated weatherstrip lubricant) is sufficient.
- Starting at the top center of the window, press the weatherstrip into the channel and work outward toward each corner, using a rubber mallet or your palm to seat the seal fully.
- Ensure the seal is uniformly seated with no twists or pinches; align ends and make clean cuts where needed for a tight joint.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions (if used), then reinstall interior trim and molding.
- Perform a water test (hose or careful runoff) to check for leaks and re-seat or adjust as necessary.
