Precision Vent Glass, Tempered Left or Right Hand Green (Second Series 2054T GTN) is a direct-fit replacement vent window designed to restore function, weather-tightness and appearance to compatible classic and vintage door assemblies. The pane is safety-tempered and finished with a factory-style green tint for glare reduction and an original look. Precision-cut edges and consistent thickness ensure proper sealing and smooth operation in left- or right-hand vent frames. Ideal for restoration projects or replacing cracked, pitted, or fogged vent glass, this part improves durability, visibility and vehicle value while meeting safety glass standards.
Features:
- Left- or right-hand vent glass — fits second series 2054T GTN vent window openings
- Tempered safety glass with green tint for glare reduction and a period-correct appearance
- Precision-cut and edge-finished for reliable sealing and smooth operation
- Restores weather-tightness, reduces wind noise and prevents water intrusion
- Durable, long-lasting replacement suited for restorations and repairs
- Straightforward installation — designed for use with existing vent frames and hardware
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and lower or secure the main window (if applicable); disconnect battery if needed for power components.
- Carefully remove interior door panel and any trim pieces to access the vent window frame and pivot hardware (use plastic trim tools to avoid damage).
- Support the vent frame from the outside and remove the fasteners or rivets that secure the vent assembly to the door (retain hardware if reusing).
- If the vent assembly separates from the frame, note the position of seals, weatherstrip and any shims; use masking tape to mark alignment points.
- Remove the old vent glass from the frame by loosening pivot screws or clips and sliding the pane free; protect surrounding surfaces and wear gloves to handle glass safely.
- Clean the frame channel and mating surfaces of old adhesive, debris and corrosion; apply a light silicone lubricant to pivot points if recommended.
- Seat the new tempered vent glass into the frame channel, aligning edges and any locating tabs or notches. Reinstall pivot screws/clips and hand-tighten, then check operation.
- Adjust hinge/pivot tension and alignment so the vent seals evenly when closed and operates smoothly; tighten hardware to spec.
- Reinstall the vent assembly into the door, secure fasteners, and replace interior trim and door panel.
- Clean the new glass with glass cleaner and inspect for proper sealing and operation; test drive to confirm no wind noise or leaks.
