Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open the vent (quarter) window. Support the glass as needed to prevent dropping.
- Carefully remove the vent window assembly per your vehicle’s service manual (some models require removing inner door panel or hinge screws).
- Remove the old weatherstrip by prying gently with a flat plastic trim tool or screwdriver. Cut away any deteriorated rubber with a utility knife if necessary.
- Clean the channel, glass edge, and mounting surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or a mild solvent. Remove rust, old adhesive, and debris; lightly brush away corrosion and wipe dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces on the glass and in the frame to confirm orientation and fit. Note left/right and top/bottom positions.
- Lubricate the weatherstrip bead lightly with soapy water or rubber lubricant. Starting at one end, press the new seal into the channel around the vent glass or frame, working slowly to avoid twisting or stretching.
- If required, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive at the corners or along the channel per adhesive instructions to secure the seal.
- Reinstall the vent window assembly, adjust glass alignment and hinge hardware so the seal seats evenly, then tighten mounting screws to specification.
- Operate the vent window several times to ensure smooth movement and verify there are no leaks. Check for water intrusion by gently spraying water around the sealed area and inspect the interior.
- Reinstall any interior trim removed during disassembly and clean the new seals with a damp cloth to remove any residual lubricant.
