Instructions:
- Remove the interior door panel or access trim to reach the vent window assembly according to your vehicle’s procedure.
- Support the vent glass and carefully loosen/remove any pivot or mounting screws so the vent frame can be accessed or removed if required.
- Peel out the old weatherstrip from the vent glass/frame. Use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to help remove stubborn sections, taking care not to damage the glass or frame.
- Thoroughly clean the glass channel and frame mating surfaces with a rag and mild soapy water. Remove old adhesive residue and allow surfaces to dry.
- Lightly lubricate the new weatherstrip with soapy water or a silicone-based lubricant to ease installation. Avoid petroleum-based products.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the vent glass/frame channel. Work progressively around the perimeter, ensuring the seal seats fully without stretching or twisting.
- Reinstall the vent assembly and tighten pivot/mounting hardware to the vehicle’s specifications. Replace the door panel or trim.
- Cycle the vent window to confirm smooth operation and inspect for gaps. Test for leaks by gently spraying water around the seal and checking the interior for intrusion.
