Precision Vent Glass Weatherstrip Seal VWB 1120 73 is a direct-fit replacement for the left or right vent (quarter) window on 1973 Volkswagen Bus (Type 2) models. Engineered to secure and seal the vent glass, it prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and protects interior trim from vibration and wear. Molded from high-quality EPDM rubber for long-lasting flexibility and weather resistance, this OEM-style seal restores proper fit and appearance while being simple to install for restoration and maintenance projects.

  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Soapy water or silicone lubricant
  • Clean rag
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and open the vent window to access mounting hardware.
  2. Remove any interior trim or screws securing the vent glass assembly using the Phillips screwdriver and trim tool.
  3. Carefully pull the vent glass assembly out of the frame; support the glass to avoid dropping.
  4. Remove the old weatherstrip from the vent frame by prying gently with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver; clean the channel and mating surfaces with a rag and soapy water.
  5. Lubricate the new weatherstrip with soapy water or silicone spray for easier installation.
  6. Seat one end of the new seal into the vent frame channel and work it evenly around the perimeter, pressing firmly until fully seated. Use a rubber mallet gently if needed to ensure full engagement.
  7. Reinstall the vent glass assembly into the frame, aligning mounting points; replace and tighten screws evenly to avoid distortion.
  8. Operate the vent to confirm smooth movement and check for gaps; make final adjustments as needed and reinstall any interior trim.
