Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim with masking tape or cloth.
- Carefully remove the chrome trim that inserts into the body clips: pry gently with a trim tool or use a screwdriver covered with tape to avoid marring the trim.
- Remove the old weatherstrip: cut any bonded sections with a razor blade and pull the seal out of the channel, working around the windshield.
- Clean the flange and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or wax & grease remover to eliminate old adhesive, dirt, and residue.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip to ensure proper orientation and confirm alignment with body clips and chrome trim.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange or channel per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions; allow tack time if specified.
- Lubricate the new seal's bulbed edge with a mild soap-and-water solution or silicone lubricant to ease installation. Starting at the top center, press the seal into the channel and seat it firmly into each body clip, working outward toward the corners.
- Reinstall the chrome trim, ensuring it properly engages the seal and locks into the body clips. Use a rubber mallet and a protective block to seat trim evenly without damage.
- Trim any excess material flush with the ends where necessary and wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive to cure per instructions (if used). Perform a water test and road check to confirm there are no leaks or wind noise, and make final adjustments as needed.
