Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and steel trim; loosen any retainers or screws holding the molding.
- Clean the windshield flange and surrounding metal thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield opening to confirm fit and orientation; note where the trim groove aligns with the steel molding.
- If the application requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of recommended weatherstrip adhesive to the flange per the adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the new seal into the windshield channel, working slowly around the glass. Engage the seal lip fully and ensure the trim groove remains exposed for the steel molding.
- Reinstall the steel trim into the groove, using gentle pressure and clips or retainers as needed. Trim any excess weatherstrip with a razor for a clean finish.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions (if used), then perform a water test to verify there are no leaks and that the seal seats evenly.
