Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with masking tape or fender covers.
- Carefully remove the exterior chrome trim (WBL D512 GM) if already installed, using a plastic trim tool or protected screwdriver to avoid damage.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and clean the windshield flange and channel thoroughly with adhesive remover or rubbing alcohol; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield to confirm correct orientation and compatibility with the chrome trim.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at the center top, seat the weatherstrip lip into the windshield channel and work outward and downward toward the corners, pressing firmly to engage the entire channel. Use a rubber mallet lightly if needed to fully seat the seal.
- Reinstall the chrome trim (WBL D512 GM), ensuring trim clips align and hold the seal in place; trim ends may need minor trimming with a utility knife for perfect fit.
- Allow adhesive to cure as directed (if used), then inspect the seal for uniform contact. Test for leaks by gently spraying water around the windshield and checking the interior for intrusion.
