A precision-molded windshield weatherstrip seal engineered for convertible models to create a watertight, windproof interface between the windshield and body. Designed to accept chrome trim that inserts into body clips, this seal restores the original fit and finish while protecting the interior from water intrusion, reducing wind noise, and preventing glass-to-metal contact. Built from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, it offers long-term reliability and straightforward installation — ideal for restoration projects and routine replacements.
Features:
- Works with chrome trim that inserts into body clips; designed for convertible windshield applications.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes.
- Seals against water and wind to prevent leaks and reduce cabin noise.
- Formed to maintain OEM-style fit and appearance for restoration-quality results.
- Easy to install with common hand tools; accommodates existing body clips and chrome molding.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes (vehicle dependent)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding paint with masking tape or towels.
- Carefully remove the chrome windshield trim and any visible body clips; retain usable clips or replace as needed.
- Peel out the old weatherstrip. Use a trim tool and screwdriver to free any clips; clean the channel and glass edge thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to remove old adhesive and debris.
- Verify clip locations and replace any broken body clips so the chrome trim will seat correctly.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel and align it with the chrome trim to confirm correct orientation and length.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the body channel per adhesive instructions.
- Starting at the center, press the seal into the channel and work outward toward the corners, ensuring the seal seats into each clip. Use a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to fully engage the seal without damaging it.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by inserting it into the center-retaining pocket of the new seal and snapping it into the body clips. Trim any excess weatherstrip with scissors or a utility knife for a clean finish.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions before driving. Inspect for proper seating and water-tightness after installation.
